What the Free SEO Audit Checks
SEO Mentor analyzes the HTML and other observable signals returned by the URL you submit. The audit combines more than 195 checks across seven categories so you can look beyond a single title tag or keyword and understand the broader health of a page.
On-Page SEO
Checks include the page title, meta description, headings, content structure, internal and external links, descriptive anchor text and other elements that help users and search engines understand the purpose of the page.
Technical SEO
The audit evaluates measurable technical signals such as canonical configuration, indexability directives, HTTPS consistency, language and viewport declarations, status-related signals, duplicate declarations and link patterns that can interfere with crawling or interpretation.
Performance and Page Resources
SEO Mentor reviews performance-related signals that can be observed from the fetched page and its markup. It does not pretend that an HTML crawler has measured laboratory or field Core Web Vitals when those measurements are unavailable.
Accessibility
Accessible websites are easier for more people to use and often have clearer semantic structure. Checks review observable HTML accessibility signals such as image alternatives, form labels, link names, headings and document landmarks where applicable.
Images
Image checks look for issues including missing alternative text and other observable image attributes that can affect accessibility, context and page efficiency.
Structured Data
The audit checks for detectable structured data and implementation signals. Missing or incomplete markup is not automatically treated as a success, and schema that is not relevant to a page should not artificially inflate the score.
Security
Security-related checks evaluate observable HTTPS and response/page signals that can affect user trust and safe browsing. Results are limited to what can be verified by the audit rather than assuming an unmeasured condition passes.
How to Read Your SEO Score
The score is a prioritization aid, not a Google ranking score. Each applicable result contributes according to its outcome and importance, while non-applicable checks are excluded rather than rewarded. Category-balanced scoring prevents a category with many minor checks from overwhelming more important on-page or technical findings.
What You Get for Every Detected Issue
Where the audit finds a problem or opportunity, the report explains what was checked, what was found, why it can matter, how to fix it and the evidence used. High-impact findings are surfaced first so a normal website owner can identify the work most likely to deserve attention before dealing with minor improvements.
Why a Healthy Category Can Still Be Useful
If a category has no detected problems, SEO Mentor shows that its measurable checks passed and summarizes the successful checks. It does not hide the entire category behind an ambiguous “no applicable opportunities” message.
What an Automated SEO Audit Cannot Tell You
An automated scan cannot replace business context, keyword research, competitive analysis, server logs, real-user performance data or a manual review of whether content genuinely satisfies search intent. Use the audit as a diagnostic starting point and verify important recommendations before making large site-wide changes.
